Hi, I’m Manuela Insixiengmay (in-six-eng-may or in-sees-yung-mai depending on who you’re asking), a Lao/French photographer currently based in Seattle, Washington. I also go by “Manny.”

I’ve worn a number of hats in my life, from pizza waitress to neuroscientist, but photographer has been my one true love. That said, I’m a hobby collector and curiosity is a driving force in both my personal and professional life. Solving the ‘problem’ of photography with lighting, perspective, and collaborative approaches is one of the most satisfying things I can think of. I’m grateful to be working for clients like Nordstrom, Brooks Running, and Amazon to name a few. I love shooting conceptual and editorial still-life photographs, portraits, and anything with atmosphere and mood.

When I’m not on set, I enjoy digging around in my garden, paddle boarding, hanging with my kid, and collecting hobbies. The phrase, “so I was experimenting with…” surfaces often in conversations and I can’t wait to hear about your experiments, curiosities, and things you’re working on.
